-What is ramping? Ramping is a mode on a paintball marker that increases the balls per second (bps) or rate of fire (ROF) of the marker. When a predetermined bps setting is hit, the marker fires at the ROF set. For example, if you have the marker set to ramp at 5bps, and you have it set to ramp up to 17bps, then the marker will shoot 17bps once you hit 5bps on the trigger. The marker will sustain 17bps until the user goes below 5bps on the trigger. Again, these settings are adjustable on a lot of boards. So you can set how fast you want to pull the trigger before it ramps and how fast you want it to ramp to. Here is a chart of my example. It ramps at 5bps and ramps up to 17bps. There are also ramp modes that ramp into full-auto. Once your hit your specified bps it goes into full-auto shooting at the speed you set. Other ramp modes ramp in percentages. If you set it to 50% ramp, it would shoot the speed you are shooting plus 50%. So if you shoot 10bps, it would shoot 15bps. It will shoot your 10bps and the 5bps, which is 50% of 10. There are yet other modes such as PSP 3-shot which ramp into a 3-round-burst type of mode. With modern electronic boards, about any kind of firing mode is possible.

Sorry to pop your bubble, but on your chart ramping starts at 4 bps. ;D Also it seems like you made your board based on an Ion? Am I right?

Yes lol. The graph didn't turn out 100% accurate, and at the time this was made years ago, Ions were extremely popular and I had one as my personal marker as well.
